My Dear Henry

It was lucky for you that you went away when you did for it has been perpetual fog ever since, owing I suppose to the subsiding of the waters. Knowing how such a muggy atmosphere discomposes you I rejoice in your absence. There is no news for you from hence, except that I have caught a violent rhumatism [sic] from standing out in the damp seeing them plant trees under the shade of which I shall never sit, but then I think your children may, which consoles me. a letter from Mr M. <1> tells us he is in a state something between an oyster & a Polypus, & that the horse he recommended was sold before he got Mr F's <2> answer, which he laments as it was as clever an animal as ever went for 50 Gs No Letters are come for you but the one that accompanies this - Mr F. arrives to night
