Florence
Decr 7th
My dear Henry,
Three letters <1> have already been sent directed to you at the Poste Restante & which I conclude by this time you have received. – We are much obliged for your offer of getting the Lascia passare <2> but Mr Nicholl <3> has already given that commission to a friend of his – it certainly is some consolation that the Dogana <4> is an ancient Temple but I have no idea of being carried in that way to see sights. – We are quite tired of the rain it has determined us upon returning here in the Spring, for we can have very little idea of what Florence is like in Sunshine – We shall see you on the 21st & mind to let us know where we are to go to, in time, we shall leave this the 17th or 18th –
Yours affly
Jane H Nicholl
Letters have been very irregular in coming lately owing to the floods I believe –À Mons
