Valetta.
Feby 13 1846.

My dear Sir

Captn Wallis of the Warspite has kindly offered to take anything for us to England so I shall send my negatives for fear they might darken, and shall be very much obliged if you will send me copies, that I may see how my handywork has answered, I am sure that they wd sell extremely well here, as Malta has become a vast recipient of tourists and travellers, who wd all like memorials of it, besides the number of persons connected with the two services, <1> who are continually changing. If this hint enables you to realize an enormous sum, I hope you will give me a share I need not say there are more subjects here, as wherever Nature displays her face, there is an inexhaustible variety.

I am truly vexed at not recieving [sic] my paper, as my stock is reduced to 14 sheets, and I am afraid to use them lest I shd have none for Sicily if we go there. I only wish that I had some hundred sheets, as I shd be sure to fill them.

I am happy to say that Lady C. <2> has been much better during the last week, and with kind regards from all, remain

yours very truly
Calvert R Jones

When the copies are sent, it is best to get a Bill of Lading <3> and to send it to me by Post, as that ensures the delivery.
