Veranda.
Septbr 8. 1846
My dear Sir
I am sorry to say that my contemplated trip is put out of the question More affidavits respecting the Will <1> to which I am an executor have arrived; and persons in different places must be brought together, this takes time, and as you are so soon leaving home again, I shall be unable to accept your kind invitation.
I enclose a letter from Mr Bridges, <2> who you will percieve [sic] is in despair about his positive copies, I cannot help him, having as yet failed in them myself. I am glad however that he seems to succeed with his Negatives.
Henneman <3> wrote me word that he was going to practise Portrait taking I am glad of this, as I am sure, if done quickly, that they must succeed.
I hope he got a view of the Capricorn on the Stocks when at Southampton
Yours very truly
Calvert R. Jones.
