Dear Sir,

Our Election has just resulted in the return of Mr R. Long <1> and Mr Lysley, Coll Boldero having resigned a few days ago – I understand that Capt Marshall resigned his pretensions for Calne last night leaving Mr Lowe to be returned without opposition. I trust your Brother in law and Nephew Lord Valletort <2> will be successful – I will let you know the result at Devizes as soon as I hear it, South Wilts nomination is fixed for Monday & North Wilts for Tuesday next.

I am Dear Sir Yours obliged

West Awdry
