Dear Sir.
I have just received your translation of Bellino’s Cylinder, and will present it at our first meeting, the 19h November. I have just glanced over the introductions, and I quite agree in what you say of the wonderful accuracy with which Bellino’s and Grotefend’s inscriptions are printed. I may the same of Ker Porter’s Babylonian inscription. I have sometimes wished that Rawlinson had adhered to the facsimile, but it would have been enormously expensive, and would have increased the difficulties of the student, moreover many were taken from duplicate copies of different “hands,” if we may use the term here.
I am Dear S
Edwin Norris
