I have answered this by saying I thought Mr Montgomery <1> wd decline it - & I have told Mr B <2>. that I understood he wd not read the Service - on Saturday -

My dear Madam

I will take care that Mr Talbots intentions express'd to me in your note of last night are carried into effect.

It quite escaped me when at the Abbey to assure you that I shall feel much gratified by Mr Montgomery's taking the pulpit on Sunday, and particularly so, if this may be rendered the more pleasing to him by Mr Tabot [sic] expressing to his Friend the wishes of himself & the Family upon the subject.
