Dear Sir,
I am sure you will excuse my not calling on you today when I tell you that we have just lost my dear Father. He has been so long an Invalid that we were prepared for the Event though it came upon us rather suddenly at last. he had been as well as usual till Thursday when he became much worse and it pleased God to terminate his sufferings yesterday.
I think the Railway Company cannot object to your very reasonable proposal which I will communicate at the expiration of a few days and inform you the result.
