Dear Mr Talbot
Our plans are still so unsettled, that I cannot yet venture to engage a Courier, altho’ greatly tempted by yr report of yr Protegé. Honesty & sobriety are essential, but difficult perfections to be found in one of his Profession – & we know it to our cost, as the person who accompanied us in that capacity when last in Italy is now working as a gallery slave, by a decree of his Holiness – As you have no projects or travelling we hope you will come to us in Sepr – should we not emigrate you will find us here till the end of Octr but at all events we shall be delighted to see you in Sepr – Have you heard that the Fox’s are going to Halifax?
Yrs most Truly
A [L?] Baring
