Dr Sir
Mr Vaux has obligingly informed me that Sir H. Ellis sees no objection whatever to my having Copies of the inscriptions and therefore I beg to enquire if you can recommend me any person capable of making the copies as I do not want facsimiles but only legible copies it would not take a capable person very long to make them – the copies of inscriptions relating to Hezekial would be particularly interesting –
In Dr Hinck’s paper of which you gave me a copy I found several things which I should have published as new, having ascertained them myself & which I must now omit. On the other hand it is a satisfaction to find such coincidence of opinion as it leaves no doubt of the truth of [illegible deletion] those points
I observe en passant that he says in his Egypt memoir that there has been evidence found of the apis killed by Cambyses
I remain Dr Sir Yours vy truly
H. F. Talbot
