20th November 1876
My dear Sir,
Mr Boscawen <1> has unpacked the cases from Baghdad. Some of the Tablets were in bad condition owing to indifferent packing. The greater part is a series of contract Tablets but there are some others of interest amongst them An account will appear in next weeks Athenæum <2> and Academy. Smiths <3> papers have arrived but offer little interest. The Fund <4> goes on perfectly well
Yours vy Trly
