I beg to reqst tht you will read to the R. S. tom evening the follg note in wch I have briefly but completely explnd the principles of my Phc drawg in compliance w. yr reqst & ttof m.othr fds.

Dear Sir,

I beg to request that you will read to the Royal Society tomorrow evening the following note in which I have briefly but completely explained the principles of my Photogenic Drawing in compliance with your request and that of many other friends.

Being very short it will not materially interfere with any other business of the evening. I have put it put it into the form of a letter to yourself both as being the most convenient [illegible deletion] for so short a paper communication and of which this I trust you will approve.
