Monsieur,

Sir,

I was awaiting a new letter from you indicating your willingness to pursue our negotiations concerning the Calotype licence. Meanwhile, I was going to write to you about this subject before leaving for Paris, which I intend to do in the next few days, when I received your letter of the 22nd.

Since you have not altered your intentions & as it is time for you to prepare for the coming season, I am fully prepared to complete the deed which should bind us. I would like it if we could sign it before my departure, which I will postpone for several days if necessary.

I will therefore be obliged if you would instruct your Solicitors to contact mine. You will recall that I had put Mr Th. Dry of 22. Lincoln’s Inn fields, in charge of this matter.

I will inform him of this myself.

I will probably take advantage of the opportunity which you are offering to have lessons from Mr Henneman.

Please accept, sir, my kindest regards.
A. Claudet
