My dear Henry

You judged rightly that nobody would be more interested than me, in the birth of your dear little daughter <1> – I am happy that your amiable wife <2> is doing well & I trust they may long be your comfort & happiness – I could not help anticipating the time when I shd see this welcome little babe running on Oxwich sands quite forgetting that time is creeping on with me so that this winter has put me in mind of my age very much for I have had a rheumatic attack that confined me for a fortnight The garden looks very gay & the seeds you last sent me are coming up & carefully watched both by Mary <3> & me. pray give my kind congratulations to Constance

& believe me your aff Aunt

M: L: Cole

I am expecting Kit <4> here tomorrow.
