My dear Henry
Your Cousin Mary Anne Thackeray is going to print by subscription a Book, that was written by her late husband & if she has not written to you herself about it, I hope you will allow me to give your name to it – I send you a prospectus & wish you knew any person in yr neighborhood likely to subscribe. Mr Thackeray was a very agreable [sic] writer & his life of Lord Chatham (which I have) is a well written history of Modern days. I hope all your “Irons that are in the fire,” are coming to perfection. I wish I knew more about them. We are going to day with some friends to St Donats Castle & I have no more time than to tell you, how many plants in the garden remind me of Lacock & I send my kind love to Mrs Talbot –
