Dear Sir

I perfectly agree with your remarks as to quotations, and will bring your letter before the Council at its next meeting

Both Dr Birch and the Council generally are anxious to print as many papers as possible, for the first part of the Transactions has been a success, and for myself I think it extremely probable that we shall have a Journal every session. The only difficulty in the way is the cost<.> The previous volume was three parts paid for by private contributions whom we could not well solicit to repeat that favor As a member of the Council I may say that we have money enough to go on with at the rate of two parts of Transactions annually and now muster 112 Members When we attain to 200, or 250 there will be no difficulty in the way of publishing extra papers and occasional bulletins, as the entire amount of our income is devoted to printing no Teas or Soirées being given May I request you to favor me with the titles of your papers and their probable length for the Council.

There will be a botanical paper (with illustrations) in June, and your articles could then be pro forma read. A Meeting for July might also be arranged but I think it better to save the money and print the papers and shall advise the Council Accordingly

I remain My Dear Sir Yrs faly
