Dear Sir
A large publishing house in London is very desirous of obtaining a copper plate on which something has been etched by your newly discovered process for the purpose of illustrating a new Journal devoted to Photography to come out shortly and which I am to edit.
You were Kind enough to say you would perhaps let me have something to do in connection with your process when you had decided what steps to take to make it public, may I therefore beg of you to let me know whether some arrangement could be made by which I might be allowed to employ the process for the purpose of illustrating the periodical occasionally, either by your allowing me (under license from you of course) to work the process; or by your favoring me with a plate already engraved –
I need scarcely add that the pages of the new Journal will always be quite at your service for the purpose of making public anything new or advocating any cause in the history of Photy
I remain Sir truly yours
