I am desirous of sending to you the first part of a “Photographic Album” which I have undertaken to publish – <1> & with your permission I will forward the number, monthly, as they appear, in order to mark my appreciation of the kindness & good feeling which have induced you to give up your patent rights – If you will inform me where I should send the parcel I shall be obliged to you

Notes:

1. The first of these was published in August 1852, containing four original photographic prints by Roger Fenton. The series carried on (though not as regularly as Cundall had hoped) through no. 4 a year later. It contained examples by several photographers, including Cundall himself.
