My dear Henry,

Papa<1> desires me to write & tell you how happy he should be to see you here, but he has been laid up for this last fortnight, with a Rheumatic fever,<2> and he does not like fixing anything, for though he is getting better, I am afraid it will be some time, before he will be quite well again.

I am very glad to hear such a good account of all at Nice – Horatia <3> promised to write to me but she has never done so.
