Decr 3. 1831
Sir
I beg to remind you of the estmiate <sic> named for a Model of Laycock Abbey, when I last had the pleasure of seeing you in Town, which was to the best of my belief between 30 and 40 Guineas – this estimate was given at random, as I have but slight knowledge of the extent and minutiæ of the Building; yet, so important would the production of a Model from a subject so universally known, be, to me in my profession, that I would bind myself that its cost should not, under any circumstances, exceed the latter named sum – I regret that I cannot say what I will have the pleasure of attending your summons at any time during the present month being bound by my undertaking to complete a Model for which the Building is now waiting by the 18th but after that day, I shall be happy to hold myself at your command – I immagine <sic> a day or two with the aid of any existing drawings will be sufficient for my purpose –
I have the honor to remain
Sir
your much obliged respectful
