Bowden Park <1>
Wednesday
My dear Talbot
The Business on which the Vestry was assembled today, affected you, as a principal Landowner in the Parish, more than any one of us who attended it: and as Gentlemen of Information like yourself are much wanted, for the purpose of instructing and guiding the Many, I was very sorry to receive your note.
Nothwithstanding your Indifference to Parish Matters, I think you will be glad to hear the Result of our Conclave: namely a Resolution to employ amongst us the Surplus Labourers, instead of degrading them and spending our own Money uselessly by pretending to set them to work on the Roads.
Believe me always yrs vy truly
THS Sotheron
