My dear Henry

Be so good as to tell Mary the Housemaid that Montgomerie <1> will be in Town for a night probably about the 10th or 12th & that she is to be hospitable to him - I hope you found everything comfortable -

My letter to Paris asking you to bring me Galignani edition of Scott's work, <2> must have arrived too late.

Ever yrs affly

F.

Notes:

1. Probably Rev George Stephen Molyneux Montgomerie (1790-1850), close friend of Talbot family, artist, Rector of Garboldisham, near Thetford, Norfolk.

2. Galignani's Messenger, a newspaper that had a wide circulation among English residents on the Continent's edition of Sir Walter Scott's The Poetical Works (Paris: 1827).
