Wetham <1>
Monday

My dear Henry –

owing to your Letter reaching me here, it is impossible my answer should be at Lacock before you have left it, that however will make no difference to Mr Greene <2> the 1st September being still far off – I do not see much objection as we are all away to his straying over Wick Farm <3> as he calls it after Partridges but you may as well request him to spare the Pheasants – as they will be civil enough to remain for our return, in the wood – I hope you found everything to your satisfaction at Lacock, & that you have had less rain there than we here – It is so cruel cold too.

good bye Yr aff
C. F.

Henry Fox Talbot Esqre
