My Dear Mr F.
I have not been enquiring for news this morning, & therefore have heard none, but probably nothing is yet settled. As you do not go till Monday we have put off our journey till Tuesday, which please to notify to the household.
I wish you would leave out for me 2 dozen of sherry & 1 doz. of port, for which I can pay you the value, else I should have to bring wine from Town –
James <1> & the coachman both conduct themselves remarkably well. –
This morning I called on Britton the Antiquary <2> who showed me some drawings of Lacock make about 10 years ago, & a copy of Lady Shrewsbury’s Priest’s account <3> of the Abbey printed in 1806. He is going to allow me to have it reprinted. Sir Thos Phillips <4> & other antiquaries are very desirous that I should print Walter de Byblesworth’s treatise on the French language in the time of Henry 3d <5> which I found in the Tower.
Yours affly
Henry
