Rottingdean <1> –
August 19. 1810.
My Dear Mamma,
I went to the Review for the Prince’s <2> birthday last Monday, there were nine thousand five hundred men drawn out into a line so long that you could not see the end, The regiments were the Prince’s, the 51st, 34th, the Warwick and Leicester Militia and German Legion, & many others of whom I could not tell the name, the Prince was dressed in dark blue embroidered with gold, & had several hundred gentlemen with him; The regiments were thus disposed:
Artillery|Prince’s Reg|N.Gloucester|Leicester|Warwick|Another I don’t know what–|German Legion 1st Reg|Do 2d Reg|Do 3d Reg|Artillery
They then passed in review before the prince & we returned home – I wish you would write often to me, & long letters; Tell me where to direct to Mr Feilding. <3>
