My Dear Henry

Pray before you leave home, tell John Humfries not to send any more flowers, they are not worth putting in Water. Nor any more Strawberries as he packs them so badly they arrive hare a perfect Mash. They are a fruit which will not bear travelling, unless extremely well packed. The Cherries he may continue to send, they are a fine sort, & bear moving from their solidity. Mrs Pryre had better make the Strawberrys into Jam. I wish you would give me an account of the progress the Man makes, from the Marble works. Harriot Mundy <1> leaves town for good Thursday She is trying to persuade Caroline & Lord V. <2> to make a resting place of Markeaton, <3> in their way to Buxton. I am very much put out by the prospect of passing Octr & Novr in town, & fear it will disagree with me
