10th Augst

My Dear Henry

I am very much surprized to have heard nothing more from you, about coming down, – I naturally meant to go home on Monday, but keep myself in readiness to go back & meet you there in case you come sooner. I have a letter for you from Hammersley, <2> but do not like to send it, for fear of its missing you on the road, as I conclude it to be something of consequence, as his Clerk inquired particularly if you were likely to have it soon, but I did not know where to direct it to you Let me know Yr plans, if you write tomorrow direct here. I ordered my letters to be sent here every Ming from Laycock in case of one from you, touching your coming
