Burley on the Hill <1>
Sepr 15th.

My darling Henry

I long to hear again from you, as you said you were not quite well. What reception had you from Dr Butler? <2> I cannot think what Montagu it could be that entertained you en chemin <3>. Let me know what French Books you took from Sackville Street. <4> George <5> says chocolate is all the fashion at Harrow <6> when you give one another breakfasts. Have you any new-comers? I send you a Charade composed by Mr Hicks <7>

How often does my first disclose
That which my second would conceal?
A Truth which well Elisa knows,
And tis to her I now appeal.
Her - by whose pious hand a winter guest
My whole is shelter'd, nourish'd & carest.

You may direct your next to me at Sir Joseph Copley's <8> Sprotborough Doncaster

We are to have a large party nineteen to day at Dinner, but I do not think you know any of them except General Grosvenor & Mr & Mrs Wingfield. <9> When I write next I will tell you of all the Châteaux <10> I have seen in my way to Doncaster.

God bless you My Dearest
Yrs E F
