L. Abbey
6th September
I had not time to give Nicole my commissions yesterday morning – so pray tell him to ask Sarah for a beautiful pocket handkerchief that I understand Mrs Dawson Damer <1> left with her, after I came away. & to look for a green silk small book that lays <sic> about, it is a description of a Storm in the Alps, sent me from the author. Likewise an almond savonette <2> done up in silver paper left it is supposed in one the <sic> drawers of my dressing table.
He will probably see a book done up in paper from Leighton’s, & he is to bring it down to me, if not he must ask Leighton for it, as it must be found by this time.
Pray tell Sarah that when Mr Payne comes of a Saturday to wind up the 3 clocks, she is to let him in.
We intend going on Wednesday next on our peregrinations
