My Dear Henry

I made a great fight to go back to you tomorrow, but L. was so moving & pathetic, I was obliged to give it up & shall stay till Saturday. She said I was the only one left of her generation she could open her heart to & I could not bear to see her in tears. My brother <1> does not come till next week. – Lady Holland <2> is at Brighton, the place is so full that she could not get a House & is gone to the Albion Hotel, close to the Sea. It has been a dense fog here all day – not possible to see a yard from the windows. nothing is so depressing to the spirits as a fog
