Caro Enrico

- Mr Montgomerie <2> wishes the letter you spoke of, to be forwarded, & if it happens not to be for him, he will send it back. - Cal <3> sends you her love, & hopes to receive a letter from you soon, that will contain something [illegible deletion] more than the journal of the weather.

Your affte sister
Horatia

My dear Henry

I received your letter with great pleasure, as I was beginning to get very annoyed because you did not write to me, and I had asked Mr Mildmay to reproach you for me. Thank you very much for it, especially for your description of Vesuvius, but I am vexed to see that it is so difficult to get up to it. A few days ago we were at Roma Vecchia and Torre de' Schiavi. - Mr Montgomerie wishes the letter you spoke of, to be forwarded, & if it happens not to be for him, he will send it back. - Cal sends you her love, & hopes to receive a letter from you soon, that will contain something [illegible deletion] more than the journal of the weather.

Your affte sister
Horatia
