Laycock Abbey
Sunday 2nd

My dear Henry

I have settled to go to Bowood <1> Tuesday & therefore shall no longer want the Globe you so kindly supplied me with. I shall be quite sorry to leave the Abbey it is so very quiet & peaceful & I made myself very snug in your Library, with the unwanted appliances of flowers, novels, workframe & comfortable bergère <2> – I am getting much stronger & am able to eat comfortably – If the weather were not so muggy I should get on still quicker

I hope you will follow the good example of the others & do yourself some real good at Cheltenham Do pray to please me

Yr aff sister
Horatia

I suppose I shall go on to MtE. <3> with Caroline. <4> Her children are to be at Bowood tomorrow.
