My dear Henry

Thanks for your enquiries after my foot, which turned out much better than I expected, for it did not hinder my dancing at Almacks, <1> nor yesterday at Ly Rendleshams <2> – Pray keep some roses for me, I shall take it so unkind if they are all gone when I arrive. We are all in un mar di confusione <3> preparatory to the ball – very unlike the quiet shades of Laycock.

Addio, give my love to Constance <4> & the wee things & the enclosed programme to Amandier <5> – it may divert her. Please some of you write soon –

Yr aff Sister
Horatia

4. Constance Talbot, née Mundy (1811–1880), WHFT’s wife.

5. Amélina Petit De Billier, ‘Mamie’, ‘Amandier’ (1798–1876), governess and later close friend of the Talbot family [See Amélina's journal].
