Dear Mr Talbot
I must return you my best thanks for the very perfect specimens of the Photogenic art which you have been kind enough to send me – Lady Callcott <1> has seen them & is much pleased as you will see if I can find her note to inclose<2> – She is more zealous I believe than you are yourself to assist & make known the priority of your discovery – I must not write more dear Mr Talbot for I can hardly obtain permission from my Doctor to write at all – but I must just add my best regards to Mrs Talbot <3> – I remain
yours truly
Caroline Fox

2. The only note from Lady Callcott traced thus far is from 17 November 1841, but does not seem to fit the context of this mention - see Doc. No: 04368.
3. Constance Talbot, née Mundy (1811–1880), WHFT’s wife.
