My dear Henry

Your mantle of resignation has completely disarmed my of my wrath & the umbrella of patience has turned aside the arrows of reproach – therefore be it known that I say no more upon the subject save & except that as Sir Chrisr <1> often says, “there is no perfect happiness in this world”. Mary & Mr Franklen <2> had a very prosperous journey to Margam & Kit <3> & Mary arrived safe at home on Saturday – I had written this much to you this morning before the post came which brought your letter – I am very glad I had quite forgiven your delinquency before or I should suspect myself. Thank you very much for your remembrance I shall value it very much both for its own [illegible] <4> & for your sake – When we shall come to Lacock I don’t know, not this spring certainly but I have the best intentions possible & Mr Franklen is too much pleased with his first visit not to wish to repeat it & make a better acquaintance

God bless you dear Henry

I am your very affecte cousin
Isabella C Talbot

Henry Talbot Esqr
