My dear Uncle,
Papa <1> desired me to write to you and ask if it would be convenient to you to have me for a little next Monday Aug. 27, As you were so kind as to invite me to Laycock when I saw you in London.
I must return to Offington <2> on Wednesday the 29th I am going with my Aunt Mrs Hobhouse <3> to Weston-super-mare, where my address will be

2. Offinton Hall, the seat of Capt Gaisford, near Worthing, Sussex. It was demolished in the 1960s.
3. Frances Hobhouse, née Gaisford (1817-1907), sister of Thomas Gaisford.
4. Ela Theresa Talbot (1835–1893), WHFT’s 1st daughter and Rosamond Constance ‘Monie’ Talbot (1837–1906), artist & WHFT’s 2nd daughter.
