J’apprends avec un plaisir extrême le retour de Monsieur Talbot dans ces contrées, et il me trouvera fort heureux de le recevoir, quoiqu’aux regrets de lui donner cette peine. Je ne sortirai point aujourd’hui & je serai chez moi demain tout le jour, excepté de midi à 3 ou 4 heures. Je lui renouvelle l’expression de mon fidèle dévouement.

Translation:

I am absolutely delighted to learn of Mr Talbot’s return to these parts, and he will find me most happy to receive him, although sorry to put him to this trouble. I will not be going out at all today & I will be at home all day tomorrow, except from noon till 3 or 4 o’clock. Once again I would like to express my faithful devotion to him.
