to the Printer
Bel and the Dragon
Place the following at the end.
– dash –
Line 14 of col. I should perhaps be translated
– He lifted his great sword called “Lord of the Storm.” <1>
So that both the Chariot & the Sword had names, which are mentioned in 2 consecutive lines.
H. F. Talbot

June 30.
Notes:
1. WHFT read “The Fight between Bel and the Dragon, and the Flaming Sword which turned Every Way” at the meeting of the Society of Biblical Archaeology, June 30, 1876. It was published in the Transactions of the society in 1877, pp. 1–21. In this he adds the note to the Printer (including the dash) shown in this letter. Quite likely, then these two notes to the printers Harrison [this letter and Doc. No: 00825] were written in response to printers proofs, which would date this document to June 30, 1877 and Doc. No: 00825 June 29, 1877.
