Mr Hatchard presents his respects to Mr Talbot and has forwarded by post this day a copy of the “Report of the 13th Meeting of the British Association”, <1> which is out of print and scarce; the price of it will be 10/6.

The 1851 Edition of “Hunts Photography” <2> is quite out of print, Mr Hatchard has written to Mr Griffin of Glasgow who has not a single copy; he will however make further enquiry and send a copy as soon as he succeeds in meeting with one.

Mr Hatchard also encloses a note from Messrs Black of Edinburgh respecting the vol of the Edinburgh Philosophical Journal, which he is still endeavouring to procure at the second hand Booksellers.

Notes:

1. The British Association for the Advancement of Science - the 13th annual meeting was held at Cork in August 1843.

2. The 1st edition of Robert Hunt's Photography: a treatise on the chemical changes produced by solar radiation, and the production of pictures from nature, by the daguerreotype, calotype, and other photographic processes (London: John J Griffin & Co., 1851). Reflecting the rapid advances of photography in the 1850s, a 2nd edition came out in 1851, a 3rd in 1853 and a 4th in 1854. The Glasgow editions were published by Robert Griffin & Co.
