Respected Sir,

In Answer to your Note <1> of the 3rd Inst I beg leave to say that your Machine is not quite finished but will shortly be –

The Magnets act very powerfully on the Lever – to the back of which I shall have to affix a Counter Balance – but before I did so I could wish to hear from you this done and the wheel fixed I shall try and report to you its merits without delay I cannot see how any thing can be done with out a Wheel & the necessity of which perhaps you will admit in order to fix the breakpiece – a Wheel can be fixed on the same base with very little trouble – I did think to have had the Machine completed by this time – but so much work requires considerable time – my endeavours have and always will be to merit your favour

I am Respected Sir Your Most Obedient humble Servant
Wm Henley
