Translation:

I am taking the liberty, Sir, of sending You the three enclosed letters of introduction which you desired.

It will be a particular pleasure for Doctor Waagen to show You the rich painting collection which His Majesty the King has bought from Mr Solly and which is not yet open to the public. I should only ask You, Sir, to go to 66 Berlinerstrasse between 11am and 2pm on either Tuesday or Friday. You will certainly find Mr Waagen there.

Mr Lichtenstein, whom you will know as a scholar and an author from his journey to Africa, is the curator of the natural history collection. He is staying at the hôtel de l’Université where the aforementioned collection is also held.

Mr Levezow is in charge of the room with coins and intaglios, as well as the Egyptian antiquities. The collection is at the castle but it will necessary for you to be so kind as to send my letter to his house and to [send?] Your servant to arrange a time when he can wait for You at the Chateau.

I am proud that I will have the pleasure of seeing You, Sir, at our home one of these evenings, and please accept the assurance of my highest regards.

Berlin,
