Hartham Park
Sunday Morng.
My dear Talbot,
In my readiness to obey your summons for today, I forgot that I should thereby desert my new guest on the very commencement of his right: & I omitted in the evening, when this occurred to me, to mention the difficulty to you. If you are quite sure that you can find him a seat at your table without inconvenience, pray say if I may bring him with me. If there be any doubt on that lead, do not even name him to Lady Elizabeth; <1> as I can leave him at home without scruple. I think the Prince may be probably known to [illegible deletion] her from meeting him at Lansdown House. <2> We should not want beds, as I am obliged to return to an early engagement [illegible deletion] for tomorrow; which will not admit of my sleeping out to night.
Begging you to excuse the liberty I am thus led to take
I am Very truly Yours
H. H. Joy
