I am sorry you are such a lazy amateur of tree-moving, as to prefer seeing it by proxy; but, as you are, I have done my possible <1> to enlighten your deputy, & furnished him with a copy of Sir Henry Stuart <2> to refresh his recollections at leisure.
If you happen not to go to Town tomorrow, pray come over at two o'clock, & we will move another for you. Say too to Captain Fielding <3> & the Ladies that 2 is the hour instead of 12, which I hope will be more convenient; & that I much regret they cannot contrive to repose upon my (not laurels, but,) occidental planes, [illegible deletion[ after the operation, for the evening. Perhaps, if you stay over tomorrow, you can honor me, &, peradventure, prevail on them to do likewise.

3. Misspelling for Rear Admiral Charles Feilding (1780-1837), Royal Navy; WHFT's step-father.
