My dear Mr Talbot

I have been very unwell for some days past with a little attack of gout, & altho I am now much better & am able to limp across the room I cannot help fearing it is possible I may not be well enough to be with you on Monday I therefore write this line to prepare you for our nonappearance Altho I will not yet give up entirely the hope of being with you on Monday At all events I trust there is little doubt of my being sufficiently recovered to travel on Tuesday The Postman is waiting with kind regards from us all

Believe me sincerely yrs
Harriet Ker Seymer
