Dear Sir
I have searched the Votes of the House of Commons but do not find that as yet any Petition for a Bill has been presented by the Wilts Somerset & Weymouth Company – but I will watch the proceedings for same.
You must petition the House before the 2nd reading and the Petitioners for the Bill will have to prove the compliance with the standing orders – & I apprehend the service lately made on you will not be a compliance – It is however as yet a question what the House will do under the report of the Select Committee now sitting.
You must of course present any Petition against a Bill which is not before the House –
I have not had any communication whatever from Mr Brunel <1> –
I am dear Sir
Yours truly
Wm Chas King
