1 New Square Lincolns Inn
27th April 1846
Dear Sir
I beg to send you a copy of a letter I sent to Lord Ilchester on the subject of the fund which you are entitled to have transferred to you by the Trustees of the Settlement of 1796 – this morning Lord Ilchester called on me & expressed himself perfectly satisfied and willing to concur in the transfer of the Stock leaving me to take such discharge from you as I deemed proper – It only then remains for you to call the attention of the Earl of Auckland to the matter & request to know his wishes – It may be that he will be satisfied to adopt the views of Lord Ilchester and concur with his Lordship in all that is required at once – or he may deem it necessary that his own Solicitor should investigate it the matter –
The first step however is for you to apply to Lord Auckland to acquaint him with the matter & ask his wishes – as I am a stranger to his Lordship I have thought it best to request you to address him instead of my doing so.
I am Dear Sir
yours truly
Wm Chas King
