Sackville St. Tuesday Morng,
Dec 12

My Dear Sir,

I enclose a letter from Mr John Jackson which I will thank you to return. Will it do as well, for me to attend at Lincoln Inn? For it is too much to expect that my mother in her infirm state of health, should take a journey of 200 miles at this time of year- And as to what Mr Jackson says, that it will be no expense, the journey alone is an expense of 20 £.

Supposing my mother's attendance to be necessary will it be of any consequence if it is deferred till the month of March when she returns to Town? Will you have the goodness to write to Lord Ilchester's Steward (since my mother says you know his name and address) and request him to pay all that is due to my mother up to Michaelmas last. It appears from Mr Stilwell's books that nothing has been received from him since the spring, which we attribute to his not having received any directions from my mother as to the payment.

Believe me Dear Sir Yours very truly
H.F. Talbot
