Dear Sir

I intended to have expressed that in May 1628, (and not in Sep^r 1617) Edward the Son of Tho^s was 21 tho’ his Brothers & Sisters were in May 1628 under Age.

I cannot find the will of Sir Tho^s Leighton. ^<1> I don’t think he left a Will. There is an Inquisition post mortem upon him – 7^th Jan. & that, with the Pedigrees, in my opinion clearly establishes the fact that the Elizabeth Leighton who married the 1^st Sherington Talbot was the Daughter of Sir Tho^s Leighton by Eliz^th his Wife heretofore Eliz^th Knolles.

I have no Copy of the Inquisition on Sir Tho^s Leighton & can’t think it worth the expence, £10; but however willing & anxious I am that the Talbots sh^d be descended from Mary Zouch it is to me so manifest that the reverse is the fact that I must not not express to you any doubt on the Subject. Call in upon me & if I am not at home I will leave my Papers for your Inspection & which will I think shew that my Opinion is but too well grounded
