TalbotLa Société française de photographie devant faire graver pour ses membres un diplome spéciale, dans lequel doivent figurer les portraits des trois premiers inventeurs de la photographie, je viens vous prier de vouloir bien nous envoyer votre portrait que je n’ai pu me procurer à Paris, pour le remettre au gravure afin d’obtenir le plus de ressemblance possible.
J’ai pensé que vous voudrez bien adherer a notre demande en nous adressant une de vos photographies –

With the Société Française de Photographie having to have engraved for its members a special certificate, on which must figure the portraits of the three most important inventors of photography, I am asking you to kindly send us your portrait which I have not been able to obtain in Paris, so that it may be given to the engraver in order to obtain the best possible resemblance.
