Le bulletin que j’ai l’honneur de vous faire parvenir ainsi que cette lettre par les soins de M. J. J. Taylor, contient le procès verbal de notre dernière séance et le rapport de la commission qui vous décerne la médaille honorifique de notre société.
Le comité vous enverra cette médaille auusitôt que le permettra la confection du coin special, mais il tient à vous dire dès aujourd’hui combien notre société est heureuse d’offrir ce témoignage de reconnaissance à l’inventeur de la photographie.
J’ose vous prier, monsieur Talbot, de vouloir bien m’accuser réception de cette lettre et du bulletin en me disant à quelle adresse je pourrai vous faire parvenir directement une nouvelle communication du comité.

The report which I have the honour of sending you along with this letter, through Mr J. J. Taylor, contains the verbal account of our last meeting and the report of the commission which is awarding you our society’s honorary medal.
The committee will send you this medal as soon as the manufacture of the coin allows, but it is anxious to tell you this very day how happy our society is to give this token of our gratitude to the inventor of photography.
I make so bold as to ask you, Mr Talbot, to acknowledge receipt of this letter, and of the report, by telling me the address at which I can send you a new communication directly from the committee.
